Litigation-General Liability

Jeff Lydy has represented plaintiffs and defendants for over 30 years in personal injury litigation. Not only have Jeff’s clients suffered serious physical, emotional and psychiatric injuries as a result of negligence, but Jeff’s clients on the other side have been charged with causing serious injuries through their acts personally or through the acts of their employees. Jeff has represented hundreds of injured persons, and persons and corporations accused of injuring others, in routine auto torts, trucking accidents, premises liability claims, including slip and falls, and intentional tort claims.

Employment Law

Jeff has represented management in employment cases, including discrimination, hostile work environments claims, and wrongful discharge and other areas of employment discrimination in Federal and state courts. If the facts are clear that a client of Jeff’s has been discriminated against, Jeff has represented those clients in state and federal courts asserting discrimination claims.

Insurance Law

Jeff Lydy has 30 years experience litigating and interpreting insurance policy language in trial courts and appellate courts. He has rendered opinions on coverage, duty to defend, duty to indemnify, and other insurance contract related issues such as the availability of excess coverage. Jeff has filed and defended bad faith claims. In representing individuals, or corporations, Jeff is usually able to determine whether there is insurance coverage available to provide a defense for the client, and if there is a question, he has filed suit on this issue numerous times.

Contract Law

Jeff Lydy represents individuals and corporations on contract disputes. Many of these cases have proceeded to court and the court of appeals. These claims include purchase and sales agreements, asset acquisition agreements, non-compete agreements, employment agreements, severance agreements, and lease agreements.

Where does Jeff Practice

Jeff is licensed in both Ohio and Michigan. He has litigated in courts from the Ohio – Indiana border to the Ohio – Pennsylvania border, which includes Toledo and northwest Ohio and Cleveland and southeast Ohio, and Akron. In Michigan, he has handled suits in Detroit, Ann Arbor, Sturgis, and Kalamazoo. Jeff practices in both state and federal courts.
